Keeping Comet open and safe.

1. Illegal activity

You must not use Comet to create, publish, promote or facilitate activity that is unlawful in the jurisdiction applicable to you or to Comet. This includes using Comet to knowingly facilitate fraud, scams, theft or other criminal activity.

2. Harmful and dangerous content

You must not use Comet to publish or distribute content whose primary purpose is to credibly threaten, facilitate or encourage serious harm to another person.

3. Abuse, exploitation and inhumane content

Comet has zero tolerance for content that depicts, promotes, facilitates or encourages serious abuse, exploitation, cruelty or inhumane treatment of people or animals. This includes, but is not limited to:

• child sexual abuse material or the sexual exploitation of minors;
• content that solicits, facilitates or promotes the abuse or exploitation of children;
• animal cruelty, torture or deliberate abuse;
• content that encourages or glorifies serious violence, cruelty or inhumane treatment;
• trafficking, forced exploitation or other forms of serious abuse; and
• material created for the purpose of facilitating or encouraging such conduct.

We may remove content, suspend or terminate accounts, and restrict access to websites where we reasonably believe this policy has been breached. Where required or appropriate, suspected illegal activity or material may be reported to the relevant authorities.

4. Fraud, impersonation and deception

You must not use Comet to:

• operate fraudulent schemes;
• intentionally impersonate another person or organisation in order to deceive;
• create phishing websites;
• obtain passwords or financial information through deception;
• distribute intentionally misleading malware or downloads; or
• falsely represent an affiliation with another organisation.

Parody, artistic work and commentary are not prohibited merely because they imitate or refer to another person or organisation, provided they are not being used to deceive users unlawfully.

5. Malware and security abuse

You must not use Comet to:

• distribute malware, spyware, ransomware or malicious code;
• interfere with or attempt to compromise Comet infrastructure;
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to another account or system;
• conduct denial-of-service attacks;
• evade reasonable security controls; or
• knowingly distribute content designed to compromise another device or account.

6. Intellectual property

You must not knowingly use Comet to publish material that infringes another person's intellectual-property rights.

If you believe your copyright or other rights are being infringed by a Comet website, contact contact@cometwebsitebuilder.com. Please provide sufficient information for us to identify and assess the material concerned.

7. Privacy

You must not use Comet to unlawfully:

• publish someone's sensitive personal information;
• collect personal information without an appropriate legal basis;
• sell or distribute unlawfully obtained personal data;
• conduct phishing; or
• circumvent applicable privacy or data-protection laws.

If your Comet website collects information from visitors, you are responsible for ensuring your collection and use of that information is lawful.

8. Spam

You must not use Comet primarily to distribute unsolicited spam or operate services designed to facilitate bulk abusive messaging.

9. Excessive infrastructure use

You must not deliberately use Comet in a way that materially interferes with the service provided to other users. We may apply reasonable technical limits relating to matters such as storage, bandwidth or automated requests where necessary to protect the service. Any limits applying to a particular Comet plan will be communicated separately.

10. Selling products and services

If you sell products or services through a website created using Comet, you are responsible for ensuring that those products, services and transactions comply with applicable law. Third-party payment, fulfilment or commerce providers may impose additional restrictions under their own terms.

11. Investigation and enforcement

If we reasonably believe this policy has been breached, we may:

• contact the account holder;
• request further information;
• restrict specific content;
• temporarily suspend a website;
• suspend relevant functionality; or
• terminate an account in serious or repeated cases.

We will consider the nature, seriousness and context of the issue when deciding what action is appropriate. Where it is reasonable and safe to do so, we will aim to give users an opportunity to correct less serious issues.

12. Urgent situations

We may take immediate action without advance notice where we reasonably believe this is necessary to:

• prevent serious harm;
• respond to an active security incident;
• address clearly unlawful content;
• comply with a valid legal obligation; or
• protect Comet, our users or third parties from significant risk.

13. Reporting a Comet website

If you believe a website hosted through Comet breaches this policy, contact contact@cometwebsitebuilder.com. Please include:

• the website or page concerned;
• a description of the issue;
• any supporting information; and
• your contact details where appropriate.

We will review reports in context and take appropriate action where necessary.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Comet develops or as legal, security and operational requirements change. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate.
