Your data, handled with care.
This policy explains what information Comet collects when you build and publish a site with us, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep it as short and plain as a privacy policy can reasonably be.
Last updated: 10 September 20261. Information we collect
When you create a Comet account, we collect your email address and a password (stored securely, never in plain text). When you build a site, we store the content you create — text, images you upload, layout and design choices — so we can render, save, and publish it on your behalf.
We also collect basic technical information automatically, like your browser type and general usage patterns, so we can keep the product working and fix bugs.
2. How we use your information
- To provide the core service — building, saving, and hosting your site.
- To calculate and enforce your storage plan's limits.
- To send essential account and service emails (password resets, security alerts).
- To improve Comet based on aggregate, anonymized usage trends.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your site content to train any model.
3. Cookies & local storage
Comet uses essential cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in and to remember in-progress edits to your site. We don't use third-party advertising trackers.
4. Third-party services we rely on
Comet is built on a small number of trusted infrastructure providers, each of which processes a limited slice of your data to do their specific job:
- Supabase — authentication and database storage for your account and site content.
- Cloudflare — hosting and delivering your published site around the world.
- Stripe — payment processing for paid plans, when enabled. Comet never sees or stores your raw card details.
5. Data retention
We keep your account and site data for as long as your account is active. If you delete a site or your account, associated content and uploaded files are removed from active storage; backups are purged on a rolling schedule shortly after.
6. Your rights
You can access, export, correct, or delete your data at any time from within the app. If you'd rather we do it for you, or you have a question about what we hold, email us and we'll handle it directly — see Contact below.
7. Children's privacy
Comet is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.
8. Changes to this policy
If we make a material change to how we handle your data, we'll update this page and, where appropriate, let existing account holders know by email.
