The fine print, kept plain.
These terms cover using Comet to build, host, and publish a website. By creating an account, you agree to them — read on for what that actually means.
Last updated: 10 September 20261. Acceptance of terms
By signing up for or using Comet, you agree to these terms. If you're using Comet on behalf of an organization, you're confirming you have the authority to bind that organization to them.
2. Your account
You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Let us know right away if you suspect unauthorized access.
3. Acceptable use
Don't use Comet to publish illegal content, malware, phishing pages, or anything intended to harass or defraud others. We reserve the right to suspend or remove sites and accounts that violate this.
4. Your content, your ownership
You own the content and sites you create with Comet. We don't claim ownership over your text, images, or designs. You grant us only the limited license needed to store, render, and publish your site as you've instructed us to.
5. Subscriptions & payment
Some storage and publishing tiers are paid. Payments are processed by Stripe; by subscribing, you also agree to Stripe's own terms for the transaction. Plans renew automatically until cancelled; you can cancel anytime from your account settings, effective at the end of the current billing period.
6. Service availability
We aim for reliable uptime but don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. We'll do our best to give notice ahead of planned maintenance that could affect your published site.
7. Termination
You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where practical.
8. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
Comet is provided "as is." To the extent permitted by law, we're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including lost data, revenue, or business opportunities.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves. We'll post the change here and update the date at the top of this page; continued use of Comet after a change means you accept the updated terms.
